Job summary

Pathfinder Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead the hotel’s engineering department, overseeing maintenance of all equipment and systems. You’ll develop preventive maintenance programs, supervise technicians, and manage budgets to ensure safety, reliability, and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates bring leadership, strong communication, and deep knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, with a focus on cost control and continuous improvement.

  • Extensive knowledge of hotel equipment and systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical components.

  • Budgeting and financial management to allocate resources efficiently.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and maintenance management software.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills for vendor and team relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the hotel's engineering department and maintenance operations.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life.
  • Direct and supervise maintenance technicians ensuring safety and quality.
  • Manage budgets for supplies, equipment purchases, and contractor services.
  • Prioritize requests balancing guest needs with resources and sustainability.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections and ensure safety compliance.
  • Prepare reports and present recommendations to management.

  • Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment, identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

  • Prepare reports and present recommendations to management regarding maintenance operations, budget needs, and potential improvements.
