Job summary

Austin Peay State University seeks the University Librarian & Executive Director of Library Services to lead the Felix G. Woodward Library.

Reporting to the Provost, you will join the Provost’s Leadership Team and provide strategic leadership for library resources, personnel, facilities, technologies, and learning environments. You will cultivate an inclusive, collaborative culture, oversee budgets and operations, and partner with faculty and campus partners to advance student success and

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent degree.
• Minimum 5 years leadership in an academic library.
• Experience supervising faculty and staff.
• Experience managing budgets, facilities, and collections.
• Commitment to inclusion and student success.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Felix G. Woodward Library in alignment with the university mission.
• Lead library faculty and staff through collaboration, transparency and mutual respect.
• Administer library operations, budgets, facilities, and digital infrastructure.
• Develop goals supporting teaching, learning and research at APSU.
• Collaborate with academic leadership to integrate library services into the curriculum.
• Promote accessible, student-centered library environments both physically and virtually.
• Represent the library on university committees and external forums.
• Engage alumni, donors, and partners to support library priorities.
• Ensure policies meet professional standards and accreditation requirements.
