Job summary

Sunstate Equipment is creating its first General Counsel role to support growth and strategic ambitions. Reporting to the CEO, the General Counsel will oversee the legal function, governance, and enterprise risk management, enabling scalable growth while maintaining prudent risk controls.

The Senior Vice President, General Counsel will serve as the chief legal officer, partnering across the organization and leading negotiations of significant commercial agreements, corporate governance, and M&A

Qualifications

• Strong executive presence and ability to advise the CEO and board.
• Proven ability to negotiate sophisticated, high-stakes commercial agreements.
• Experience leading or building an in-house legal function.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal legal advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board.
• Develop and execute the Company’s legal strategy and governance framework.
• Lead the design of scalable legal operating model and policies.
• Oversee mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments.
• Manage outside counsel, litigation strategy, and legal budgets.
