Job summary

Civitech seeks a General Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor, guiding contracts, governance, employment matters, compliance, risk management, and vendor relationships. The role partners with executives to support growth while controlling risk.

The ideal candidate brings practical business partnering with expertise in business and employment law, multi-state workforce compliance, and complex contractor relationships. Election law exposure is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• 8+ years of legal experience in business/corporate/employment law or commercial contracting.
• Strong contract review, risk assessment, governance, and employment law knowledge.
• Experience advising senior leadership on legal and business matters.

Responsibilities

• Legal Review and Risk Management: review customer, vendor, partner, and procurement agreements to identify risks.
• Advise on contract structure, liability, indemnification, IP, privacy, and related issues.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and approval processes.
• Ensure agreements align with policies, risk tolerance, and objectives.
• Review proposed modifications and advise on legal implications.
• Maintain and improve the contracting framework.
