Job summary

The University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle is seeking a Labor Relations Negotiator to support collective bargaining and union interactions across UW bargaining units. You will coordinate labor relations activities, analyze outcomes, and partner with HR, Academic Personnel, Finance and other UW units to advance the University's mission.

This hybrid role requires strong judgment, communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
• Three years of professional labor relations experience in the public or private sector.
• Experience drafting and developing collective bargaining proposals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as intermediary for contract administration and union notifications across UW bargaining units.
• Lead contract negotiations including strategy, drafting proposals and team management.
• Act as chief negotiator for collective bargaining.
• Advise management on labor developments and policy changes; mentor staff.
• Represent the University at union/management meetings and regulatory proceedings.
• Coordinate cross-unit Labor Relations activities with HR, Academic Personnel, Finance, etc.
• Develop and deliver labor relations training for employees.
• Manage information requests from campus and hospital bargaining units.
• Support classification and compensation discussions with Compensation.
