Job summary

The University of Minnesota's Office of Human Resources is seeking a Senior Labor Relations Consultant to join our Employee and Labor Relations Center of Expertise. In this hybrid role based on the Twin Cities campus, you will serve as a lead or second-chair negotiator in labor contract negotiations and partner with senior leadership to design proactive labor relations strategies.

We offer a salary range of $120,000-$140,000 alongside competitive health, retirement, and tuition benefits.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in HR or related field required; Master's or JD preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of labor relations experience including contract negotiation and grievance handling.
• Strong knowledge of labor law and excellent communication and collaborative leadership are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop bargaining strategies, draft proposals, and negotiate labor contracts.
• Facilitate labor-management committees and consult on contract interpretation and legal compliance.
• Oversee the grievance process, write decisions, and prepare for arbitrations.
