Job summary

Delaware Technical Community College seeks a Director of Systems Infrastructure to provide strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of the College’s core technology infrastructure across servers, networks, storage, cloud platforms, and datacenter operations.

This role ensures secure, highly available, scalable environments and partners with academic departments and administrative units to support digital transformation and long‑term technology planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field and 6+ years of relevant experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine a multi-year infrastructure roadmap aligned with the college’s mission and goals.
• Provide leadership and operational oversight for all infrastructure platforms, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
• Oversee procurement, lifecycle management, and cost optimization for infrastructure technologies.
• Foster a high-performance team environment with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Supervise infrastructure staff, including recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Develop succession planning and cross-training to ensure continuity across systems.
• Manage the infrastructure budget with data-driven recommendations.
• Establish and maintain vulnerability management, patching, and incident response processes.
• Coordinate audits to ensure regulatory and institutional compliance.
• Research and pilot new technologies to enhance teaching and administration.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
• Oversee vendor selection, contracts, SLAs, and performance monitoring.
• Act as the designated information security officer and oversee security program development.
• Develop business cases for infrastructure investments with ROI analyses.
• Perform other related duties as required.
