Job summary

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in the Washington, DC Metro Area is seeking a Chief Market & Growth Officer to lead the organization’s revenue engine across Sales, Marketing, and Communications.

This executive will drive growth targets, build a high-performing team, and align demand generation with NAEYC’s mission to advance quality early childhood education.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience spanning marketing, communications, and sales/business development, including at least 5 years in a senior executive capacity.
• Proven track record of driving revenue growth and customer/member acquisition and retention.
• Expertise in building and implementing multi-channel lead generation and acquisition opportunities.
• Experience partnering with product teams to build customer-centric sales journeys and go-to-market motions.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with revenue and pipeline targets experience.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue and business development strategy, setting and delivering against growth targets.
• Identify, cultivate, and close new business across priority markets.
• Build and lead the sales/business development function.
• Partner with product/program teams to design customer-centered sales journeys and go-to-market motions.
• Set pipeline targets and forecasts, reporting revenue accountability to the CEO and Executive Team.
• Lead integrated marketing and communications to build demand and convert engagement into customers and partners.
• Elevate the brand and storytelling to support growth of impact in early childhood education.
• Oversee content, campaigns, and channel strategy aligned with priorities.
• Align marketing/communications metrics to product dashboards.
• Establish shared goals, metrics, and dashboards across engagement, acquisition, retention, and revenue.
• Build and lead a team across Sales/Business Development, Marketing, and Communications.
• Serve as a core Executive Team member aligning growth strategy with mission.
