Job summary

The San Diego Center for Children seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead the organization’s philanthropic strategy, advance major gifts, and strengthen donor and institutional relationships to support its mission.

As a member of the senior executive team, the CDO will partner with the President & CEO and the Board to align fundraising with strategic priorities, manage a multi-year development plan, and ensure sustainable resources for programs serving children and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years in nonprofit development.
• Proven success securing major gifts from individuals, foundations, and government.
• Experience partnering with CEOs and Boards to achieve fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year development strategy.
• Lead major gifts, donor engagement, and stewardship efforts.
• Build and manage major donor and institutional prospect pipelines.
• Collaborate with CEO, Board, and cross-functional leaders to ensure revenue growth.
