Job summary

Klosterman Baking Company seeks a visionary executive to lead Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, and Regulatory Compliance across bakery facilities and distribution networks.

The VP will set enterprise-wide standards, drive continuous improvement, and ensure adherence to FDA/FSMA, USDA, SQF/BRCGS/FSSC 22000, and other certifications while aligning with business growth and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related scientific discipline required.
• Master's degree in Food Science, Business Administration (MBA), or related field preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, or operations within food manufacturing.
• Minimum of 7-10 years in senior leadership roles with responsibility for multi-site food manufacturing operations.
• Bakery manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience interacting with executive leadership, regulatory agencies, key customers, and certification bodies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's enterprise-wide Food Safety, Quality, Sanitation, and Compliance strategy.
• Lead HACCP, HARPC/Preventive Controls, GMPs, allergen management, environmental monitoring, traceability, sanitation, and food defense programs.
• Establish enterprise standards and best practices to ensure consistent execution across all locations.
• Drive sanitation excellence through robust cleaning validation, verification, and accountability programs.
• Ensure bakery and depot operations maintain the highest levels of food safety, hygiene, and product integrity.
• Oversee governance processes to ensure compliance risks are identified, assessed, and addressed across the organization.
• Provide executive leadership during food safety incidents, product withdrawals, recalls, customer escalations, or regulatory actions.
• Lead supplier quality oversight and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Procurement.
• Travel 35-50% to inspect facilities and support program implementation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or a related scientific discipline

Master's degree in Food Science, MBA or related field
