Job summary

FinStrat Management, Inc. is seeking a senior finance leader to serve as a virtual CFO for a portfolio of growing SaaS clients. You will drive strategic financial planning, revenue recognition, and governance while leading a team delivering high-quality client engagements.

You will partner with CFOs and CROs, manage capital needs, and shape scalable finance infrastructure to support rapid growth and long-term profitability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial leadership experience, preferably as CFO or VP Finance in SaaS.
• Deep knowledge of software revenue recognition and SaaS metrics.
• Experience scaling finance processes for growth (organic and inorganic).

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer.
• Provide insights on growth strategy and financial implications of major decisions.
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies, and systems for timely data and FP&A across clients.
• Analyze client financial results against budgets, trends, and profitability.
• Present insights with narrative on results, variances to plan, and key metrics.
• Lead execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships.
• Manage cash and debt facilities to maintain liquidity for client growth.
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales on contracts and processes.
• Coordinate with outside legal counsel.
• Oversee stock option, commission, and benefit plans.
• Direct FSM staff assigned to client engagements.
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standards and provide five-star client service.

Job description

The Role FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Chief Financial Officer. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both our company and our clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy, as well as input regarding the financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems that capture and utilize timely and accurate data across clients’ business, as well as financial planning, budgets, forecasting and closing processes
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost and compliance with budgets
• Present and provide insight on financial results with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
• Provide leadership in the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization, and debt facilitates to maintain a strong foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales team on contracts and contract processes
• Serve as a liaison between clients and their outside legal counsel
• Oversee clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standard
• Provide five-star client service

Job Requirements

Professional background

• 10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• Success implementing and optimizing process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic)
• Experience in leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
