Job summary

FinStrat Management, Inc. is seeking a client-facing Chief Financial Officer to lead finance for FSM and its services. This is a key strategic role to shape growth, build a top-tier finance function, and guide client engagements.

The CFO will oversee SaaS revenue recognition, budgeting, forecasting, fundraising, and financial controls, collaborating with client CROs and legal counsel to ensure disciplined execution and strong liquidity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• Experience leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company
• Ability to implement and optimize process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and growth

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy and financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems for timely, accurate data across clients’ business and financial planning
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and budgets
• Present insights on financial results, variances to plan, trends and key metrics
• Lead financial transactions including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization and debt to maintain liquidity for growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales on contracts and processes
• Serve as liaison between clients and outside legal counsel
• Oversee stock option, commission and benefit plans
• Direct FSM staff assigned to client engagements
• Ensure deliverables meet FSM’s quality standard

The Role FinStrat Management (“FSM”) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a client-facing Chief Financial Officer. This is a great opportunity to build a team, implement best practices, and help scale both our company and our clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage FSM client engagements as a virtual Chief Financial Officer
• Provide insight and recommendations related to clients’ growth strategy, as well as input regarding the financial implications of major business decisions
• Implement controls, frameworks, policies and systems that capture and utilize timely and accurate data across clients’ business, as well as financial planning, budgets, forecasting and closing processes
• Analyze clients’ financial results with respect to profits, trends, cost and compliance with budgets
• Present and provide insight on financial results with a narrative on results, variances to plan, trends, and key metrics
• Provide leadership in the execution of financial transactions, including financing, acquisitions, facilities, and partnerships
• Manage cash utilization, and debt facilitates to maintain a strong foundation of liquidity for clients’ growth
• Collaborate with clients’ CRO and sales team on contracts and contract processes
• Serve as a liaison between clients and their outside legal counsel
• Oversee clients’ stock option, commission, and benefit plans
• Direct and support FSM staff assigned to client engagements

Job Requirements

Professional background

• 10+ years of financial experience with recent experience as CFO or VP of Finance at a growing SaaS or software company
• Solid understanding of software revenue recognition, SaaS metrics, and associated best practices
• Success implementing and optimizing process, procedures, and infrastructure to enable scale and support growth (organic and inorganic)
• Experience in leading fundraising efforts, ideally at a growth stage company
