Radicle Science is seeking a visionary, roll-up-your-sleeves Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team and serve as a key strategic partner to our founders and other senior executives. This is not your typical CFO role—it’s an opportunity to shape the financial architecture of a high-growth, multi-revenue stream company that’s building a category-defining business. You’ll bring financial clarity to complexity, optimize for scale, and help unlock new growth opportunities through data, discipline, and insight.
Location
Remote, but must be (1) willing to work Pacific hours given the company is headquartered in Southern California, and (2) willing to travel to California 4-6 times a year for company-wide and/or executive meetings.
Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Leadership: Serve as a trusted thought partner to the co-founders and executive team—translating financial insights into strategic decisions across product, partnerships, operations, and growth. Lead capital strategy, scenario modeling, investor communications, and financial narratives to support future fundraising and potential M&A. Guide international expansion and partnership monetization strategies while navigating global regulatory and tax implications.
- Forecasting, Budgeting & Financial Planning: Build and maintain dynamic financial models and dashboards to inform strategic planning and track performance across multiple product lines. Lead annual and quarterly budgeting processes in collaboration with functional leaders; manage rolling forecasts and scenario analyses. Translate complex data into clear insights for internal teams, the Board, and external partners.
- Financial Operations & Controls: Oversee and continuously improve accounting systems, financial operations, and internal controls to support a rapidly scaling organization. Ensure timely, accurate preparation of financial statements and compliance with applicable accounting standards. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax professionals, and legal counsel for audits, filings, and contractual reviews.
- Revenue, Pricing & GTM Enablement: Provide financial guidance on pricing models, licensing structures, and commercial terms for enterprise and SMB customers. Collaborate closely with Sales and Biz Dev teams to evaluate partnership economics and optimize sales incentive structures. Support data monetization strategies, helping to define how proprietary data can become a revenue-generating asset.
- Risk, Compliance & Governance: Own key relationships with financial institutions, insurance brokers, and other external partners. Maintain oversight of legal, financial, and operational risks—and ensure Radicle is compliant with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experienced: 10+ years in senior finance roles, including 5+ years in early- or growth-stage tech, healthtech, or data-driven companies.
- Venture Mindset: Scaled revenues from $10m to $50+m while raising A-C rounds.
- Strategic + Hands-on: Equally comfortable in the boardroom or in the spreadsheet. You bring both executive-level thinking and day-to-day executional excellence.
- Analytical + Insightful: Fluent in FP&A, modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning to drive strategic business decisions. You make the complex simple and the ambiguous clear, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to drive strategic business decisions.
- Business-Minded: You see beyond the numbers to drive outcomes—helping teams make smarter decisions across pricing, partnerships, and profitability.
