Job summary

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) seeks a Chief Ethics Officer to lead the enterprise ethics program, report to the Board, and ensure integrity across the organization. This executive role requires deep ethics expertise, regulatory familiarity, and the ability to guide policy, training, and confidential investigations.

The Chief Ethics Officer will oversee confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and post-employment restrictions, shaping the ethics culture while coordinating

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA/master’s degree a plus; JD preferred.
  • At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in ethics or related area.
  • Experience implementing an ethics program in a highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with SOX and PCAOB ethics code.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the PCAOB’s enterprise-wide ethics program.
  • Advises the Board and senior leadership on ethics issues and policies.
  • Collaborates with functional areas to route ethics matters for review and resolution.
  • Responds to alleged ethics violations and oversees investigations.
  • Provides independent oversight to promote integrity and trust.
