Job summary

The Chief Ethics Officer position at PCAOB in Washington, DC will lead the enterprise ethics program and provide independent oversight of ethics policies and the Ethics Code. The role reports to the Board and collaborates with senior leadership to identify, monitor, and mitigate ethics risks across the organization.

You will set strategic direction for ethics education, respond to ethics concerns, ensure confidentiality and compliance with SOX, and oversee annual reporting while developing staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; MBA/master’s degree a plus; Juris Doctorate (JD) preferred.
• At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in ethics or a closely related area.
• Demonstrated experience implementing a successful ethics program in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with SOX and the PCAOB ethics code.
• Strong executive judgment, communication, and ability to advise senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages the enterprise-wide ethics program.
• Advises the Board and senior leadership on emerging ethics issues and establishes policies and controls.
• Collaborates with functional areas to review, investigate, and resolve ethics matters.
• Provides independent oversight to ensure integrity, accountability, and trust.
• Sets strategic direction for ethics education and awareness across the organization.
• Monitors ethics program performance and annual filing requirements.
• Recruits, develops, and supervises staff as needed.
