Job summary

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) is seeking a Chief Ethics Officer at its Washington, DC headquarters. This senior role leads the enterprise ethics program, reports to the Board, and ensures compliance with ethics standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include advising senior leadership on ethics issues, developing policies and controls, and maintaining effective communication about ethics matters across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree; advanced degree(s) preferred.
• Extensive experience implementing ethics programs in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Sarbanes‑Oxley Act and PCAOB ethics code.
• Strong executive judgment and cross‑functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise ethics program across the organization.
• Advise the Board and leadership on ethics issues and policy requirements.
• Develop controls, reporting tools, and processes to monitor ethics risks.
• Oversee handling of ethics violations with independence and integrity.
• Maintain ethics communications, including hotline awareness and training.
• Support staff development and supervise performance and promotions.
