Job summary

Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) seeks a Chief Auditor and Director, Professional Standards to lead modernization of auditing standards and enforcement. This senior role advises the Board on engagements for issuers and SEC-registered broker-dealers and reports to the Chair.

You will oversee interdisciplinary teams, set research agendas, guide implementation of new standards, address AI and tech in reporting, and represent PCAOB to regulators and investors with the highest

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant discipline; CPA license required.
• MBA/master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 20+ years of progressive responsibility in public accounting or auditing environments.
• Strong familiarity with IAASB standards, SEC requirements, and auditing standards.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple assignments, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal advisor on auditing standards for issuers and broker-dealers.
• Direct standard-setting activities and research agendas.
• Oversee the Office of the Chief Auditor's activities and teams.
• Represent the PCAOB at conferences with regulators, investors, and academics.
