Job Title: Chief Estimator

This individual will oversee the company's estimating team, ensuring accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage the estimating department for a general contractor.
• Lead the preparation of cost estimates, including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Review project plans and specifications for accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors for bids.
• Develop estimating procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
• Review subcontractor proposals, negotiate pricing, and scope of work.
• Ensure timely submission of bids.
• Maintain cost databases and material pricing data.
• Assist in developing project budgets and forecasts.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction estimating.
• Leadership experience managing estimators.
• Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality renovation, corporate interiors, or fast-paced projects.

Work Environment

Office-based, five days a week, with a clear career progression to VP and President roles.

Pay and Benefits

Salary range: $130,000 - $170,000/year. Includes competitive base salary, bonus potential, company phone and laptop, health/dental/vision benefits.
