Job Description

The Director of Estimating must be an energetic, self-motivated, and innovative individual with the skills to develop and execute estimating tasks and deliverables. The role requires being a collaborative team player and a strong leader to foster collaboration across CRB. She/he creates brand differentiation and pre-eminence for CRB by working with teams to enhance project estimating expertise, excellence, and standardization.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement innovative/disruptive project estimating standards, processes, and solutions across CRB.
2. Drive a culture of continuous estimating learning and improvement to maximize CRB’s risk/reward value proposition.
3. Create and own the strategy and priorities for CRB's estimating expertise and specialty differentiation.
4. Develop and manage CRB’s commercial project estimating standards and processes.
5. Promote design and construction estimating and cost awareness within CRB’s culture.
6. Provide project estimating leadership across CRB.
7. Ensure project estimating training is part of CRB’s career development and staff growth.
8. Support staffing and recruitment for the Corporate Estimating Team.
9. Participate in estimating staff performance reviews.
10. Develop the annual business plan for Estimating.
11. Approve estimating department costs (software, expenses, etc.).
12. Participate in the Risk Committee for proposals.
13. Lead as a Lead Estimator when workload demands.
14. Collaborate with Directors of Cost Control, Planning/Scheduling, and Project Management to coordinate integrated design and construction practices.

Qualifications

• College Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, and/or Construction Industry.
• Proven success in managing architecture, engineering, and construction processes.
• Experience with Integrated Project Delivery is a plus.
• Experience in Life Science Design and Construction.
• Previous project management and/or pre-construction experience.
• Strong understanding of project and estimate lifecycles.
• Knowledge of project logistics and schedules.
• Ability to organize, plan, and manage multiple activities effectively.
• Decisiveness under tight deadlines.
• Conceptual and detailed estimating skills.
• Understanding of design and construction details and drawings.
• Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of estimating software such as Timberline (Sage Estimating) and OnScreen Takeoff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Life Science, Industrial, and Commercial Projects.
