Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Principal Environmental Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for environmental engineering across our Government Remediation line. This role leads strategic approaches, oversees complex designs, and communicates with client representatives and regulators.

The successful candidate will have 15+ years in environmental engineering, a PE license, and experience on federal remediation projects, with strong leadership and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or authorized to work on federal contracts.
• Experience leading federal remediation projects and developing environmental remediation approaches.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible environmental engineering experience.
• Engineer of Record or senior technical reviewer experience; PE license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical expert and authority for environmental engineering across the Environmental Remediation business line.
• Lead development of strategic approaches and provide oversight/approval of complex environmental designs, characterization and remediation plans, and compliance strategies.
• Advise executive leadership on execution risk, regulatory impacts, and mitigation strategies.
• Manage a team of environmental engineers with varying levels of experience, including project assignments, career development, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with federal environmental laws and regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, CWA, and CAA.
