Job summary

Peckham Industries, Inc. (PII), through its Dailey Precast, LLC subsidiary, seeks a Chief Engineer to lead structural engineering for precast concrete products, with emphasis on parking garages and commercial structures.

The role supervises in‑house designers and coordinates with outside firms to deliver compliant, cost‑effective solutions. You will drive engineering standards, liaise with sales and production teams, and ensure designs are manufacturable and safe, while meeting project schedules

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• PE license required; Must be able to obtain PE license in all New England states, New York, and New Jersey within 1 year of hire.
• At least 10 years of structural engineering experience, including leadership in precast concrete industry or commercial construction.
• Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating with third‑party engineering subcontractors.
• In‑depth knowledge of precast concrete design principles and construction practices.
• Understanding of cost implications of engineering design decisions and ability to reduce operational costs through efficient design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, SAP2000, ETabs, Eriksson software, and Salmons Technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the internal engineering team and coordinate third‑party firms.
• Direct design of precast concrete structures, focusing on parking garages, and review repair/retrofit solutions.
• Oversee deliverables to meet timelines, budgets, and specs while collaborating with project teams and clients.
• Provide engineering insights during proposals and pre‑sales activities with sales teams.
• Offer support to manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost‑efficient.
• Ensure designs comply with codes and standards and drive QA across outputs.
• Collaborate with leadership to align engineering with production capabilities and company goals.
