Job summary

JLL in Memphis, TN seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the operation of critical building systems and the engineering team, delivering safe, reliable facilities for clients. You will drive preventive maintenance, capital planning support, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

You'll oversee contractors, manage maintenance programs, and develop estimates for site projects while maintaining logs and CMMS records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of facility operations or engineering experience, including leadership.
• Strong knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety.
• Experience developing and executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Proficiency with CMMS (Corrigo) and MS Office.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, specs, blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, lighting).
• Lead engineering staff in daily operations, promoting safety and service quality.
• Develop preventive and reliability-centered maintenance programs to maximize uptime.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and client requirements.
• Manage contractors, monitor quality, and coordinate vendor services.
