Job summary

JLL in Memphis, TN is seeking an Operating Engineer to maintain critical facility systems across client properties. You will apply hands-on expertise in electrical, HVAC, and plumbing to keep mechanical and life-safety systems operating safely and efficiently.

This role emphasizes preventative maintenance, inventory control, and collaboration with contractors. This position requires 2–4 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work day and night shifts as

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
2–4 years of experience maintaining/commercial building systems.
Able to analyze operation of building systems and take corrective action.
Proficient with Word and Excel for documentation.
Willing to work variable hours in a facilities environment.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Maintain preventative maintenance and inventory control.
Inspect and calibrate HVAC systems and related equipment.
Record readings and document findings in CMMS.
Monitor contractor work for quality and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure safe storage and handling of hazardous materials.
Assist with tool and inventory checks.
