Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Staff Chief Engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary team in the Future Aircraft OU, Redondo Beach/El Segundo, CA. The role drives concept creation, development, demonstrations, and transitions of air vehicle technologies and aircraft concepts across multiple regimes and missions.

Responsibilities include technical direction, requirements control, customer interface, and TRB leadership, with a focus on risk, cost, and schedule management, and mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master/PhD in STEM with 14/12/8 years experience respectively.
• Experience in air vehicle concept design and prototype development.
• Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and across business units.
• Active US Government Secret clearance or higher (or eligible).

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for the Operating Unit; provide direction to activities.
• Define and control technical requirements; ensure cross-project coordination.
• Interface with customer and company leadership; ensure policy compliance.
• Oversee technical performance within cost and schedule constraints.
• Chair the Technical Review Board (TRB).
• Support risk and opportunity management in technical areas.
• Mentor technical contributors in systems engineering practices.
