Job summary
Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems – Research & Advanced Design (R&AD) has an opening for Consulting Chief Engineer in Redondo Beach or El Segundo, CA. Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team to execute R&D projects in expendables and high-speed air-breathing systems, spanning from basic research to flight demonstrations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in STEM and 16 years related experience; or MS with 14 years; or PhD with 12 years.
- Experience integrating multiple engineering specialties across business units.
- Active US Government Secret or higher clearance; background check within 6 years.
- Ability to obtain SAP and TS/SCI clearance.
- Up to 25% travel required.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction and leadership to the OU.
- Define and control technical requirements across projects.
- Interface with the customer and company senior leadership.
- Represent NGAS cross-company weapon-related activities.
- Collaborate with USG technology stakeholders.
- Ensure programs meet engineering principles and standards.
- Oversee technical performance within allocated cost and schedule.
