Job summary

Northrop Grumman in California seeks a Senior Staff Chief Engineer for the Expendables OU (Redondo Beach/El Segundo) to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, turning breakthrough ideas into mission-ready capabilities in expendable air-breathing weapons.

You will define requirements, coordinate across programs, and mentor staff while interfacing with customers and senior leadership to ensure performance within cost and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant STEM discipline with 14 years of related experience; OR a Master of Science with 12 years; OR a Ph.D. with 8 years.
• Active US Government Secret or higher clearance (or currently in Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain SAP and TS/SCI clearances within a reasonable time determined by business needs.
• Up to 25% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for the OU, providing technical direction and leadership to funded activities.
• Define and control technical requirements and ensure cross-project coordination.
• Interface with the customer and company senior leadership as the principal technical contact.
• Act as NGAS sector representative for cross-company weapon-related activities and collaborate with USG stakeholders.
• Chair the Technical Review Board (TRB) and support risk and opportunity management.
