Job summary
LB&B Associates Inc. seeks a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead technical operations and maintenance for critical facilities in the Maryland-DC area.
You will direct a skilled technical team, ensure reliability, safety and performance, and collaborate with management to optimize energy use and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in a chief engineer or supervisory role in commercial facilities, with hands-on HVAC, boilers, chillers, life safety, electrical distribution, and strong
Qualifications
- Minimum five years as Chief Engineer or in a related supervisory role in commercial facilities.
- Hands-on expertise with HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers and building systems.
- Licensed in EPA Refrigerants and Maryland/DC stationary engineer licenses as listed.
- Excellent English communication, strong organizational and supervisory abilities.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee technical operations and maintenance of assigned buildings to keep equipment running optimally.
- Supervise, train, and mentor engineering staff, promoting teamwork and accountability.
- Plan work schedules, preventive maintenance, and emergency response plans.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and security standards and regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for services and repairs.
- Coordinate modifications to building utilities, piping, ductwork, and life safety systems.
- Lead onboarding and ongoing training of new technical staff.
- Respond to building emergencies during and after hours and maintain security protocols.
