Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Staff Chief Engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in the Battle Management OU, located in Redondo Beach or El Segundo, CA. The role covers applied research through demonstrations in Advanced Autonomy, JADC2, and BAST domains.

The successful candidate will guide technical direction, ensure architectural integrity, and coordinate with customers and senior leadership to meet program goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a related STEM discipline and 14 years relevant professional/military experience.
• Master of Science degree in a related STEM discipline and 12 years of relevant experience.
• PhD in a related STEM discipline and 8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for the OU, providing technical direction and leadership to internally funded and contracted activities.
• Focal point for definition and control of technical requirements, ensuring coordination across projects.
• Principal technical interface with the customer and company senior leadership.
• Ensure programs adhere to sound engineering principles and quality standards.
• Oversee technical performance measures within allocated cost and schedule resources.
• Chair the Technical Review Board (TRB).
• Support program managers in risk and opportunity management by identifying risks.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to contributors in systems engineering.
