Job summary
Northrop Grumman seeks a Consulting Chief Engineer to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team within the Battle Management OU in Redondo Beach, CA or ElSegundo, CA. You will oversee R&D projects across Advanced Autonomy, JADC2, and BAST domains, guiding concept development, prototyping, and demonstrations.
The role requires a senior engineer with strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a proven track record in complex weapon systems engineering, with active clearance
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related STEM discipline with 16 years of experience; OR Master of Science with 14 years; OR PhD with 12 years.
- Experience with air vehicle flight autonomy or battle management architectures/implementations.
- Active US Government Secret clearance (or higher) with recent background check.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority for the operating unit and provide technical direction to activities.
- Define and control technical requirements and ensure coordination across projects.
- Interface with customer and company senior leadership.
- Ensure programs adhere to engineering principles and quality standards.
- Oversee technical performance within budget and schedule.
- Chair the Technical Review Board (TRB).
- Support risk and opportunity management related to technical performance.
