Job summary

Saronic Technologies, a leader in autonomous maritime technology, seeks a licensed Chief Engineer to operate the engine room of the Marauder, a mid-sized autonomous surface vessel. You will oversee main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, fuel oil, lubrication, cooling, and environmental systems while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work independently, solve complex problems, manage spare parts inventory, and help develop maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard MMC Chief Engineer, Unlimited HP.
• STCW Basic Training, OICEW.
• Valid TWIC, USCG STCW Medical Certificate, and passport.
• Proficiency in maritime engineering systems, particularly electrical.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a group.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Pass background check and USCG/DOT drug testing.
• Security clearance and eligibility required.
• Projected 28/28 schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engine room operations and maintenance of vessel machinery.
• Maintain readiness for on-call voyages and address issues during operations.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement.
• Contribute to planned maintenance schedules and processes.
• Assist in shipboard execution of mission objectives.
• Develop engineering processes prior to launch.
• Coordinate with teams and leadership across locations.
• Travel to Gulf Coast locations during hitch periods.
