Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking an experienced Captain to lead operations of Marauder, our autonomous surface vessel. You will supervise the onboard crew, plan missions, and ensure safe navigation under autonomous control, while coordinating with onshore teams to meet mission objectives.

Ideal candidates bring a strong maritime operations background, leadership excellence, and deep knowledge of navigation safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard Master License (500/1600T) for self-propelled vessels.
• Senior officer experience aboard crewed vessels in dynamic maritime environments.
• Strong knowledge of navigation, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to interpret nautical charts, forecasts, and navigation tools.
• Ability to lead and supervise shipboard crew and manage operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation of autonomous surface vessel and supervise onboard crew.
• Plan and execute vessel missions; support autonomous systems testing.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and incident response.
• Coordinate with shoreside and external authorities for approvals.
• Maintain logs, maintenance records, and inspection readiness.
• Monitor vessel performance and support mission objectives.
