Job summary

STRIVE, a national employment-focused nonprofit, seeks a Chief Development Officer to lead development and fundraising, reporting to the CEO. The role guides strategy across institutional, government, corporate, and donor funding to fuel growth and national expansion.

The leader will build a high-performing team, partner with executive leadership and boards, cultivate major gifts, secure transformational investments, and translate STRIVE’s impact into compelling narratives for funders

Qualifications

• Senior fundraising leadership experience at a national level.
• Proven success securing transformational philanthropic investments.
• Experience growing revenue and geographic reach.
• Broad fundraising expertise across institutional, government, corporate, individual, and major gift revenue streams.

Responsibilities

• Translate STRIVE’s growth plan into national, regional, and site fundraising strategies, budgets, forecasts, and targets.
• Develop strategy and capacity to increase local fundraising and support site operations over time.
• Coordinate institutional, government, individual, corporate, special-event, and other revenue sources; identify new opportunities.
• Identify high-potential prospects and develop actionable pursuit strategies with leadership and boards.
• Translate outcomes and ROI into compelling narratives and materials for funders.
• Lead complex institutional funding opportunities including foundations, capacity-building grants, and growth capital.
• Establish fundraising priorities, ownership, milestones, and performance metrics.
