Job summary

Fintech LLC is seeking a Director of Data Engineering & Governance in Tampa, FL to lead the enterprise data platform, governance program, and team of data engineers and DBAs. You will drive data quality, security, and compliance across 12 product lines and oversee modern data stack components.

You will partner with Legal, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Products to position data as a strategic asset, enable AI readiness, and guide cloud-native deployments with cost and reliability in mind.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering, data management, or related disciplines.
• 5+ years of people management leading data teams.
• 3+ years building governance programs and DAMA-aligned practices.
• Strong experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and cloud data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers and Database Administrators.
• Oversee enterprise databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Druid/OpenSearch) for performance and cost.
• Own data pipelines (NiFi, Kafka, Databricks lakehouse) and governance controls.
• Establish enterprise Data Governance Council and DAMA-based framework.
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Infra and AI teams on security and compliance.
