Job summary

Fintech is seeking a Director of Data Engineering & Governance to lead the data foundation, governance framework, and enterprise data ecosystem across cloud-native platforms.

You will manage a team of Data Engineers and DBAs, chair the Data Governance Council, and collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Product teams to ensure data quality, security, and AI readiness across 12 product lines processing $55B+ annually.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering or data management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Data Engineers and DBAs; shape enterprise data infrastructure.
• Oversee operations of enterprise databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Druid/ClickHouse).
• Own design and maintenance of enterprise data pipelines (NiFi, Kafka, Databricks + Unity Catalog).
• Define data contracts and deliver data APIs via gateway.
• Chair Data Governance Council and drive DAMA DMBOK-aligned governance.
• Ensure data security, encryption, access controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Guide AI and advanced analytics enablement for the platform.
• Develop multi-year data engineering and governance roadmap.
