Job summary

Fintech LLC is seeking a Director of Data Engineering & Governance in Tampa, FL to lead the enterprise data foundation and governance program. You will manage a team of Data Engineers and DBAs, establish standards, and drive platform modernization while ensuring data quality, security, and regulatory compliance across 12 product lines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, data management, or related technical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Data Governance Council with representation from Data, Products, Infrastructure, Legal and Compliance.
• Define and operationalize a DAMA DMBOK-based governance framework with data quality, classification, access control, retention and lineage.
• Own data security posture and partner with Information Security on controls, encryption, and monitoring.
• Oversee data pipelines, platforms, and databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Druid, OpenSearch) including CI/CD for data assets.
• Collaborate with API/MDM team to design data APIs and enforce schema/versioning practices.
• Drive DataOps adoption, observability, SLA management, and cost/performance optimization.
