Job summary

Unum seeks a visionary Head of Platforms & Architecture to own the enterprise data platform, AI governance, and BI/marketplace platforms. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, partner with Legal and Compliance, and set the strategy for data products, architecture standards, and responsible AI across Unum US and international operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
• 15+ years of progressive data/tech experience.
• 8+ years leading large, multi-disciplinary tech teams.
• Proven GenAI/agentic AI delivery experience in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year data platform strategy and target lakehouse/warehouse architecture.
• Set reference architectures for ingestion, storage, transformation, and serving.
• Provide reusable, standards-based tooling and CI/CD pipelines for data teams.
• Lead enterprise data governance, cataloging, and policy frameworks.
• Drive FinOps, cloud cost management, and value delivery across platforms.
• Oversee AI governance, risk management, and compliance with regulators.
