Job summary

Global Payments seeks a Head of Data & AI Architecture to translate data and AI strategy into scalable reference architectures. You will own the end-to-end architecture, define reusable patterns, and lead a global team to deliver governance, security, and measurable business outcomes.

You will collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Product teams to drive platform-first improvements and AI readiness across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in data and technology architecture.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale Data and AI architecture initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the target-state Data & AI architecture.
• Define reference architectures, standards, and reusable design patterns across data platforms, analytics, ML, GenAI, and agentic AI.
• Architect the enterprise data product model, including domains, MDM, semantic layers, and governed reusable data assets.
• Design end-to-end AI ecosystems spanning feature stores, model development, MLOps/LLMOps, RAG, and agentic frameworks.
• Establish integration patterns that connect source systems, data products, analytics, and AI into a unified, governed architecture.
• Embed security, privacy, responsible AI, and regulatory requirements into architecture by design.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture to align Data & AI capabilities with standards and target architecture principles.
• Provide hands-on architectural leadership to engineering and platform teams.
• Lead platform and technology strategy, driving build, buy, and partner decisions with business rationale.
• Establish architecture governance through standards, reviews, and decision frameworks.
• Drive modernization and simplification with cloud-native, AI-ready architectures.
• Build and mentor a high-performing architecture team and advocate for innovation and engineering excellence.
• Coach and develop architects and technical leaders with clear career paths.
• Communicate complex architecture in business terms to executives and stakeholders.
• Build partnerships across Product, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk, and Compliance.
