Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC is hiring a Vice President & Chief Counsel, Retail Advisory to serve as senior legal advisor to executive leadership for our Retail Advisory business. You will shape strategies across managed accounts, financial planning, investment research and portfolio management while guiding growth and risk management.

The role requires leading a team of attorneys and aligning with governance expectations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of legal experience in investment advisory or wealth management.
• Deep expertise in Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and state regulations.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional legal teams and advise executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead legal support for Retail Advisory, including managed accounts and portfolio management.
• Advise executive leadership on strategic initiatives and acquisitions.
• Develop legal strategies to enable growth, innovation and risk management.
• Strengthen governance and compliance through collaboration with senior stakeholders.
• Interpret regulatory developments and provide practical guidance.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of attorneys.
