Job summary

River Financial is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to lead the end-to-end compliance program, serve as BSA Officer, and drive OCC charter processes. The role focuses on regulatory readiness, cross-functional collaboration, and building scalable compliance systems to support River’s growth in the US market.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building and running compliance programs at regulated financial institutions (ideally BSA Officer).
• Proven track record managing regulatory exams and audits.
• Experience with OCC processes; charter applications a strong plus.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Excellent communication with examiners, the Board, and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow River's team of compliance analysts and set operating standards.
• Own BSA/AML and OFAC programs end-to-end, including policy, monitoring, investigations, and reporting.
• Build and maintain compliance policies and procedures and run company-wide training.
• Own regulatory risk assessment and drive cross-functional prioritization to close gaps.
• Develop independent compliance testing and monitoring, separate from daily tasks.
• Maintain state MTL licenses and drive OCC national charter process with leadership and external counsel.
• Own regulator/bank-partner relationships and manage exams, audits, and third-party assessments.
• Sign-off on new products/features before launch; ensure compliance is built in from the start.
• Build scalable, repeatable compliance systems and processes.
