Job summary

River is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to build and own a world-class compliance program end-to-end, serving as BSA Officer and driving regulatory obligations with rigor.

Lead a growing team, oversee OFAC/AML, manage licenses, and guide the OCC charter process while partnering with regulators, bank partners, and executives to embed compliance in product development.

Be a trusted voice with regulators, lead exams, and scale repeatable controls as River grows.

Qualifications

• Experience building and running compliance programs at a regulated financial institution.
• Track record managing regulatory exams and audits with regulators and bank partners.
• Direct OCC process experience; charter application is a strong plus.
• Systems thinker who builds durable processes to prevent issues.
• Strong people leadership with a history of developing analysts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the compliance analytics team and set operating standards.
• Serve as BSA Officer, owning BSA/AML and OFAC end-to-end programs.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies and a company-wide training program.
• Own risk assessment outputs and drive cross-functional prioritization.
• Develop independent testing and monitoring separate from daily activities.
• Maintain state MTLs and push forward OCC charter with leadership and counsel.
• Own regulator and bank partner relationships and manage exams and audits.
• Sign-off on new products and features to bake in compliance.
• Build scalable compliance systems and coach executive-level risk discussions.
