Job summary

The American Heart Association in Miami seeks a Vice President of Community Impact to set strategic direction, lead programs, and partner with Development, Communications and local stakeholders. This hybrid role requires strong leadership and hands-on management to advance community health goals.

You will drive initiatives across chronic disease control, nutrition security, tobacco prevention, and women’s health, with budgeting, reporting, and regular board updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in community health, public health, health marketing, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years’ progressive community health experience.
• Ability to interact across multiple acculturation levels and socio-economic groups.
• Strong social skills including communication, collaboration and active listening.
• Self-motivated with organized and analytical abilities.
• Skilled negotiator and executive presence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to do daily local travel up to 75% with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Community Impact initiatives throughout Miami-Dade County.
• Build and maintain community partnerships.
• Drive population-level health improvement initiatives related to chronic disease control, nutrition security, tobacco prevention, women's health, and community readiness.
• Collaborate with Development, Communications, Advocacy, Mission Advancement and partners.
• Support fundraising by communicating community needs and impact stories.
• Present regularly to boards and community stakeholders.
• Participate in media opportunities and public-facing communications.
• Identify policy and systems-change opportunities within the community.
