Job summary
The American Heart Association in Miami, FL is seeking a Vice President of Community Impact to provide strategic direction, leadership, and program oversight for community health initiatives. This hybrid role involves leading efforts across Miami-Dade, building partnerships, and guiding development and communications teams.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years in community health, strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to travel locally as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in community health, public health, health marketing, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years’ progressive community health experience.
- Strong cross-cultural and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead Community Impact initiatives throughout Miami- Dade County.
- Build and maintain community partnerships.
- Drive population-level health improvement initiatives related to chronic disease control, nutrition security, tobacco prevention, women's health, and community readiness.
- Collaborate with Development, Communications, Advocacy, Mission Advancement, and partners.
- Support fundraising by communicating community needs and impact stories.
- Present regularly to boards and community stakeholders.
- Participate in media opportunities and public-facing communications.
- Identify policy and systems-change opportunities within the community.
