Job summary

The American Heart Association in Miami, FL seeks a strategic Vice President of Community Impact to lead Miami-Dade initiatives, build partnerships, and guide health-improvement programs across the community. This hybrid role involves collaborating across departments to advance market goals and manage program delivery.

You will oversee strategic direction, budgeting input, and stakeholder communications, with travel up to local areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in community health, public health, health marketing, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years’ progressive community health experience.
• Ability to interact across multiple acculturation levels and socio-economic groups.
• Strong social skills including communication, collaboration, and active listening.
• Self-motivated and highly effective organization and analytical skills.
• Skilled negotiator and shows executive presence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead Community Impact initiatives throughout Miami-Dade County.
• Build and maintain community partnerships.
• Drive population-level health improvement initiatives related to chronic disease control, nutrition security, tobacco prevention, women's health, and community readiness.
• Collaborate closely with Development, Communications, Advocacy, Mission Advancement, and community partners.
• Support fundraising efforts by helping communicate community needs and impact stories.
• Present regularly to boards and community stakeholders.
• Participate in media opportunities and public-facing communications.
• Help identify policy and systems-change opportunities within the community.
