Job summary

The American Heart Association in Cincinnati is seeking a Community Impact Director to lead partnerships with community leaders, volunteers, and businesses to advance heart health and promote heart-healthy policies in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky market.

This full-time role drives policy, systems, and environmental changes, coordinates health education initiatives, tracks program impact, and represents the organization at local events, with a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant experience with community/public health issues and/or managing community/public health promotion, or related educational programs, or other related experience.
• Proven ability to recruit, mobilize and manage volunteers, including C-suite level executives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel daily approximately 25% with some overnight travel; requires access to reliable transportation at all times.
• Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components, or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.

Responsibilities

• Develops and nurtures relationships with businesses, healthcare providers, community organizations, and government agencies to promote heart health.
• Drives heart-health-focused PSE changes that improve access to healthy food, tobacco-free environments, and healthcare resources.
• Recruits, trains, and manages volunteers and strategic community alliances to improve health outcomes and equity.
• Implements and tracks performance metrics to demonstrate program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement.
• Acts as subject matter expert in AHA initiatives for community engagement in health risk factors.
• Coordinates community health education initiatives and public awareness campaigns.
• Collaborates on sponsorship or funding initiatives as needed.
• Represents the organization at community gatherings and events.
