Job summary

Stumptown Coffee Roasters is seeking a Head of Coffee and Education to lead green coffee sourcing, logistics, quality, and the Education team. Report to the General Manager with cross-functional leadership across origin partners, roasting, and training labs in Portland, LA and NYC.

The role emphasizes Direct Trade partnerships, P&L ownership, and driving brand quality and sustainability across the supply chain. Portland HQ based, in-office four days a week.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ specialty coffee experience in sourcing, trading, and quality management.
• Cupping and sensory evaluation skills are required.
• Experience in roasting, barista work, or coffee hospitality is preferred.
• Background in sustainability programs and partner collaboration.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Lead green coffee sourcing, procurement, and sustainability strategy.
• Own green coffee P&L, inventory, and forecast communications with finance.
• Manage Education team and training labs in multiple locations.
• Collaborate on product offerings and coordinate with operations and partnerships.
• Represent Stumptown with customers, partners, and communities.
