Stumptown Coffee Roasters in Portland, OR, seeks a Head of Coffee and Education to lead coffee sourcing, logistics and quality, and to manage the Coffee Education team across multiple locations. The role oversees Green Coffee Purchasing, Traffic, Quality Control, and related reporting to uphold brand standards.

The position requires deep expertise in green coffee, sustainability, and team leadership, with a focus on Direct Trade sourcing and cross-functional collaboration within the Senior

Formación

• Minimum 10 years’ specialty coffee experience in sourcing, trading, and quality management.
• Excellent cupping and sensory evaluation skills.
• Experience in roasting, barista or coffee hospitality, and/or product innovation preferred.
• Background in developing and working with coffee sustainability programs and partners preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A track record of effective P&L ownership, inventory management, commodities and coffee trading, and the development and execution of complex strategies and initiatives.
• Demonstrated success leading teams in a matrixed organization with the ability to influence across functions, business units, and senior stakeholders.
• Passion for coffee, quality, sustainability, and purpose-led brand building is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Spanish language skills preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead green coffee buying and sustainability strategy, ensuring sourcing plans align with quality, supply continuity, responsible sourcing principles, and long-term brand equity.
• Own the green coffee P&L and Inventory, balancing coffee supply with price risk management, ensuring inventory and cash flow metrics, and communicating forecast changes to the finance team.
• Develop and manage relationships with producer partners at origin, focused on Direct Trade sourcing principles and reporting related financial and social impact metrics.
• Act as the coffee subject matter expert for Stumptown, collaborating to create our product offering and supporting future innovation opportunities.
• Coordinate with the Education team on training materials, programs, community engagement, and events.
