Job summary

City of Lauderhill is seeking a City Engineer to plan, organize, direct, and manage the City’s professional engineering programs, projects, and services under the Development Services Director.

The position directs design, review, permitting, and construction of municipal infrastructure, and serves as the City’s principal technical advisor on engineering matters. Candidates must hold a Florida PE and possess strong supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional municipal engineering experience, including three (3) years of supervisory or administrative responsibility.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida, or the ability to obtain Florida registration by endorsement/comity within six (6) months of hire.
• Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the engineering programs, functions, and staff.
• Serve as the City’s chief engineering authority and principal advisor on complex engineering matters.
• Oversee CIP development, implementation, and administration for public infrastructure.
• Direct engineering review of private development, subdivision, site plan, and right-of-way processes.
• Coordinate engineering activities with City departments, public agencies, utilities, and private entities.
