City of Fort Lauderdale seeks a senior civil/municipal engineer to lead design and construction of capital projects in water, wastewater, and storm drainage. You will model systems, review plans, and manage consultants to ensure quality and timeliness in a complex urban environment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in related field and 3–5 years’ experience, with a Master’s potentially substituting for experience. Public works focus and city-wide coordination are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering or related field.
• Three to five years of experience in construction management and/or engineering.
• Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of required experience.
• Veterans’ Preference documentation must be included with the application.

Responsabilités

• Review permits, plans, specs, and shop drawings for water, wastewater, and storm drainage work to ensure standards are met.
• Perform capacity modeling and analyze utility infrastructure for capital projects.
• Manage consultants and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Prepare design documents, estimates, reports, and contract compliance materials.
• Coordinate with City departments and external agencies to advance projects.
