Job summary

Coconino Community College is seeking an Executive Director of Facilities & Security to provide strategic leadership for facilities, capital construction, and security. You will oversee maintenance, energy management, and campus safety while coordinating capital plans and bond-funded initiatives to meet the college’s mission.

The role reports to the President/CEO and works with the CFO on operations, budgets, and compliance, with a focus on safety, sustainability, and public-resource stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Construction Management or related field; or Master's degree.
• 6 years of progressively responsible related experience; at least 4 years with supervisory and budget responsibility.
• Experience leading large-scale capital projects and bond-funded initiatives.
• Experience in the public sector or educational environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee facilities operations, including maintenance, custodial services, grounds, fleet, utilities, and campus infrastructure systems.
• Lead capital construction and bond-funded projects; coordinate planning, design, procurement, and construction activities.
• Oversee security operations, safety programs, and emergency preparedness.
• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets; oversee procurement and contracts.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulatory requirements; coordinate with external agencies.
• Provide leadership and development for facilities and security staff; promote accountability and safety.
