Job summary

Synchrony seeks a seasoned VP of Authentication Services to own the workforce authentication strategy and architect high-availability SSO/MFA pipelines. You will lead an elite engineering team to scale modern authentication, including Okta, WebAuthn, and passwordless approaches, while aligning with enterprise Zero Trust goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a technical STEM discipline.
• 5+ years leading and scaling distributed engineering teams.
• 10+ years total enterprise IT engineering experience.
• 5 years designing, scaling, operating Okta Identity Cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own workforce authentication strategy focusing on security and user experience.
• Propose strategies to increase authentication security and UX across the org.
• Direct product management and roadmaps for core authentication technologies using Jira.
• Architect secure production-grade authentication patterns and zero-trust reference architectures.
• Lead 24/7 engineering and operations for high availability and incident response.
• Oversee application authentication and authorization integrations across platforms.
• Develop governance, risk metrics, and cost/ROI analyses for auth services.
• Advise cross-functional teams on product capabilities and roadmaps.
